Information from the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration on hospitals, retirement and nursing homes
Visits to hospitals, retirement homes, and nursing facilities remain possible in principle under strict conditions. Negative proof (proof of vaccination, proof of recovery or proof of testing) and a medical mask are mandatory. The facility management may allow exceptions to the visitation rule or negative proof for the closest family members if it is urgently required according to the assessment of the attending physicians or for ethical-social reasons, especially in the case of births or persons in the process of dying. Senior day care is still available.
The facilities are obliged to offer visitors a test to obtain a test certificate free of charge at least once a week immediately before visiting the facility. This test certificate cannot be used for other facilities or leisure activities.
Rehabilitation can be undertaken.
People with symptoms of illness for COVID-19, especially fever, dry cough (not caused by chronic illness), loss of sense of taste and smell are generally prohibited from entering. The ban on entering is lifted on presentation of a current negative test certificate.
