Asylagentur der Europäischen Union

Rechtsgrundlage der Arbeit der EUAA ist die Verordnung (EU) 2021/2303 des Europäischen Parlaments und des Rates vom 15. Dezember 2021. Diese ersetzt zum 19. Januar 2022 EASO und tritt an dessen Stelle.

Die EUAA arbeitet mit den Mitgliedstaaten über sogenannte nationale Kontaktstellen zusammen. Die Aufgabe der nationalen Kontaktstelle für die EUAA liegt in Deutschland überwiegend beim Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge (BAMF). Für den Bereich Aufnahme liegt die Zuständigkeit bei den Ländern. Im Auftrag der Länderarbeitsgemeinschaft für Migration und Flüchtlingsfragen (ArgeFlü) übernimmt Hessen seit September 2021 für die Länder die Aufgabe der nationalen Kontaktstelle für die EUAA im Bereich Aufnahme.

European Union Agency for Asylum

The European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA), formerly European Asylum Support Office (EASO), is an agency of the European Union set up in 2010 as a centre of expertise on asylum. With Regulation (EU) 2021/2303 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 December 2021 the EUAA will replace and succeed EASO. The new regulation will enter into force on January 19^th, 2022.

The EUAA cooperates with the Member States through national contact points (NCPs). In Germany, the task of the NCP for the EUAA lies predominantly with the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge, BAMF). For the area of reception, the responsibility lies with the Federal States (Länder). On behalf of the Working Group of the Federal States on Migration and Refugee Issues (Länderarbeitsgemeinschaft für Migration und Flüchtlingsfragen, ArgeFlü) and representing the Federal States, the State of Hessen has assumed the task of the NCP for the EUAA in the area of reception since September 2021.
